Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Persident, Bobby Creighton.
Pledge of Allegience said.
Visitors: Eddie Macon, Marty Tocholka,
Andrew Cushingham and Aaron Cerutti.
Old Business: Doug Pelren reported
on the picnic scheduled for the 3rd Saturday in May at the Lascassas Fire Dept. It is to be chaired by John
and Susan Harris.
Tom VanDervort reported on Uncle Dave Macon Days
in July and White Oak Fair in September. Active participants for each venue are being sought from club membership.
Sick Call: Pat Rooney is having some relapses with hospitalizations. Steve
Markham suffered a brief illness but was well enough to attend the meeting.
New Business: Don Rounsaville will have another shop visit/router bowl class on April 30.
The church has asked that we re-instate our food donations to the food bank by
bringing items to our meetings, for collection.
Dayton Brown
reminded members that the refurbished barn boards are still available.
Bobby Creighton said the Turning [pens] for Troops will run again next year. He urged participation.
Show
and Tell: Jay Hazel presented pictures and discription of a Powermatic Lathe
he refurbished. Dayton Brown showed pictures of his home, which he gutted and completely remodeled. Steve McKnight
showed a bowl he lathe turned which has no endgrain visible. It is hidden in off-set joinery. He used varietal
woods .
Mary Nichols announced that the program
planned for the next meeting is the Membership. We are all encouraged to bring show and tell in the form of objects
or pictures so we can share what we are currently working on in our shops.
Mary also announced that May 15 is Dulcimer Day in Nashville at the Two Rivers Mansion from noon to 6:00 PM, which she and Flem
Smith will be attending. She invited all interested to attend. She then introduced Flem, who did a presentation
on dulcimer making, and played, accompanied by Mary, in conclusion.
Mary presented Flem with a certificate of appreciation.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
