May meeting reminder

 Stones River Woodworkers Club Members,

Here is your reminder that our meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, 27 May 2025. As usual, we will meet at St. Marks United Methodist Church in our normal room; 1267 N. Rutherford Blvd. Murfreesboro, TN.  The doors open at 6 PM. From 6 to 6:30 is a good time for checking out the Show & Tell projects and asking questions about our Show & Tell members projects on how they do their woodworking.  There will be place-cards available on the Show & Tell table for members with projects to display to Print their Name, Email address, and a few words to describe their project. The meeting’s briefing will start at 6:30 PM.

PRESENTER:

Jim Jolliffe lives south of Tullahoma, TN.   He has been carving for more than 25 years and accelerated his learning and carving in the past 9 years.  He likes to carve realistic human busts of Native Americans, Mountain Men and Wood Spirits, whimsical bark houses and a variety of caricatures.  He primarily carves basswood, butternut, and cottonwood bark using mallets and chisels.  Jim was honored to win the wood sculpture category in the 2018 Tullahoma Arts Alive Juried Art Show with his “Chief Red Hawk” bust. Jim is the current President of the Tennessee Valley Woodworkers and a member of their Splinter Carvers subgroup.
